Enugu Rangers go in as defending champions after sealing a record ninth title in May, beating Ikorodu City 2-1 on the final day to draw level with Enyimba as the league&#8217;s most successful club. The competition is getting a financial shake-up too: the winner&#8217;s prize has jumped to a record one billion naira. Four new sides move up to the top flight &#8211; Sporting Lagos, Inter Lagos, Ranchers Bees and Doma United &#8211; and none of them has a real track record at this level yet, which matters if early results shape your read on the rest of the table.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ghana&#8217;s Premier League joins last, on September 4-7 &#8211; about six weeks after South Africa gets going &#8211; and brings three debutants of its own: Debibi United, FC AshantiGold 04 and Port City FC, all up from the second tier.
